Beta2 is available

Opensuse-12.2 beta2 was released yesterday.  I’m posting this as a quick announcement.

I did have some problems, though it is now installed.

Problem1:  The installer wanted to format “/home”.  Fortunately, I noticed and was able to turn that off (the partitioning section of the install).  I mention it, because it might be something to watch out for, particularly if “/home” is encrypted.

Problem2: The first boot after install ended in a hung system.  I’ll give more details in a later post.  The workaround is to boot with “nomodeset”, which admittedly results in poor video performance.  The “nomodeset” is only needed for that first boot after install.
