Computing cultures

This is based on my observation, from participation in online forums.

Windows Culture

Real men disable UAC and login directly as an administrator.

Unix Culture

Real men login as ordinary users, and use “su” (or perhaps “sudo”) to get a root shell (command line) when needed for administrative operations.  They avoid login at the desktop GUI as root, though they might sometimes use the command line to start a GUI administrative tool.
