Dennis Ritchie – RIP

There are reports that Dennis Ritchie has died.  He was one of the creators of the C programming language, and of the unix operating system.

I do not mourn his death – that comes to all of us.  But I celebrate his life, which was a life of achievement.  I consider him one of the computing greats.  Everyone who has worked with computers has benefited in some ways from what Ritchie has given us.
